Delicious 'Dessert', It's Android!

After googling for a few minutes, I was looking for the reason Why Google use dessert as Its Operating System name. I'm curious about it since Android OS released several years ago. Now, It's the time for me to share with you based on few source which I found when I'm browsing this evening. Let's check them out readers!

from History of Android said that
Google doesn't want to share the reason why they use 'dessert' as Android OS version. But For me, Google wants its product easy mentioned and seems delicious to 'eat'. Simply, they want their Android become delicious for user as it's name. Because name could determine the product's success. And for other reason they use the name of dessert inappropriate with alphabet. Here the listings:

  1. Android version 1.1

  2. at 2005 Google buys a company names Android. While Android's update version 1.1 released in February 2009. And the first significantly Android OS which shows the power of this platform is Cupcake.

  3. Android version 1.5 ( Cup Cake)

  4. It should have been the 1.2 version, but Google makes big changes by using 1.5 as it's version name. And the using of 'Dessert' name began here.

  12. Gingerbread man on campus Google has been reported in early November 2010, and the Gingerbread officially released in December 2010.

On December 7, 2010, Google officially announced the Nexus S (made by Samsung) that will be released on T-Mobile, the first phone with Android OS 2.3 Gingerbread.

Gingerbread supports the feature for SIP internet calling, the ability of NFC wireless transaction (if the hardware is available), support more than one camera, support for the gyroscopes and other sensors (barometer, gravimeter, and others are possible), download manager, a few tweaks to allow use of the Tablet, and other system level tweaks to the programmer.

  13. Android 2.4, "still" Gingerbread

  14. In facts, version 2.4 still called Gingerbread and "Ice Cream" (or "Ice Cream Sandwich") will be version 3.1! Well, this is a bit confusing because it violates the existing order, as the dessert's name in alphabetical order, after the G should H!. So it makes more sense to make Ice Cream after the Honeycomb (3.0)

  15. Android version 3.0/3.1 (Honeycomb)

  16. And indeed, before the ice cream, Honeycomb released in February 2011, and quickly followed by versions 3.1 and 3.2 which just came out in July / August 2011. Google posted a lot of previews and highlights on the Honeycomb.

Android-based tablet 3.x runs as will be optimized for tablets, (implying the current Android OS is not really designed for tablets). Xoom is Motorola's first Android tablet with version 3.x, and has since been followed by a ton of tablet device.
